- QuarkXPress 3.31 or Better
This is the page layout application we use almost exclusively It is our preferred layout application We ask for supplied documents to be in this format.

- Adobe Photoshop 3.0 or Better
This is the image manipulation software we use exclusively. Ask for supplied images to be in this format. The most preferred image types are TIFF, EPS, and DCS. Color images should be 4color CMYK files. Three color RGB files can also be accepted when the customer is aware that we will have to convert them to CMYK. This conversion can sometimes result in a noticeable color shift. Additional charges will be necessary for image files that are not in CMYK format. Black and white or grayscale image files can also be accepted

- Adobe Illustrator 5.5 or Better
This is the illustration application we use almost exclusively We ask for supplied illustrations to be in this format. This is another illustration application we can use. Older versions were known as Aldus Freehand.A recent merger between Adobe and Aldus left the new company with two illustration products.

- Corel 7.0
Corel files can be accepted but they need to be set up CMYK and exported as an EPS file

Adobe PageMaker 6.0
This is another page layout application. It is very popular with companies that do text intensive book publications and in-house newsletters. Image layout is not as efficient as QuarkXPress. Older versions were known as Aldus Page Maker.

- Text Formats for Word Processing Files
QuarkXPress can import word processing files in the following formats. You can accept files in these formats if your customer does not have QuarkXPress but wishes to supply the copy for their job. This should reduce and/or eliminate our responsibility for typographical errors. We will still have to do text formatting (applying fonts and type styles) as well as copy fitting (sizing and placing text in the appropriate locations on their job). This is a chargeable service so be certain to include this cost in your quote! For all jobs that come in that are not QuarkXPress pages we have to spend time converting and formatting them. If they supply us with any of the file format listed below please ask them to set up their pages as 8 1/2"x11" with1/4" borders. Please call about any odd sized pages for specific instructions.
